The winner of the Spring Races was Brent Ellinwood and Team SAWDUST!!!

Kyle Tracey, President of the International Belt Sander Association, announced the first race of this year will be held at the Happy Crab (address below) on June 13, 2009. For anyone unfamiliar with belt sander racing we are hopeful they will find our website helpful. Mr. Tracey said the best way to learn how to race is to grab your sander, a beer, and get out on the track. Everyone is welcome to attend, it’s a family friendly event feel free to spectate or bring you sander and see what she can do! IBSA decided to host the event at the Happy Crab because of it’s centralized location for New Brunswicker’s and Maniacs alike. Currently we have racers signed up from Fredericton, Moncton, and St. Stephen, New Brunswick; and Bar Harbor, Bethel, and Eastport, Maine. Mr. Tracey indicated that the sport’s popularity is due to the realatively low cost of equipment, and the rush you experience once your sander passes the finish line in under 5 seconds!!! 

Donations are welcome with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
